11 Awesome 4th July College Party Ideas

College Party Ideas

July 4th has been a federal holiday in the United States since 1941, but the tradition of Independence Day celebrations goes back to the 18th century and the American Revolution (1775-83). It’s the day which the whole nation celebrates. Picnics, barbecues, cold drinks and fireworks are seen everywhere. These are just some staples of the Fourth of July. So here are some awesome party ideas for college students to celebrate.

11 Awesome College Party Ideas

1. Thrift Shop

This idea was inspired by the incredibly catchy song by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis. The idea of the party is wear the weirdest and wackiest clothes they found down at a thrift shop. From a giant fur coat to mismatching sneakers or a hideous sweater from the ‘80s; nothing is out of bounds. It will be so much fun to see your friends in such insane outfits.
2. Graffiti
A Graffiti party is fun filled, interesting and even easy to setup. All you need are black lights, highlighters, butcher paper and ask your guests to wear white. Hand your friends highlighters so that they can write on walls and on each other. Once you get under the black light, you can see the funny and weirdest thing glowing in the dark which your friends have written on you.
3. Go camping
Take a little break from your everyday college routine. Head out into the wilderness and explore new things. Setup a campfire in the wilderness and show your talent by singing or dancing or playing a musical instrument.
4. Rubik’s Cube
Rubik’s Cube party is also a bit more interesting than the typical college party. At this party you have to wear one color of each side of each side of a Rubik’s Cube and entire outfit from shirt down to socks must all be a different color. As the night goes on, you have to swap clothing with people of other colors until you have an outfit of just one color.
5. Stoplight
People often meet some interesting match for themselves at parties. They talk to them and often end up finding that they are already engaged. For such people, Stoplight party is here to help. At a Stoplight party, people wear selective colors to tell if they are in a relationship or not.
Red – In a relationship
Yellow – Okay with some flirting
Green – Looking for a match to hangout with
6. Karaoke party
It doesn’t need fancy outfits or decorations. It doesn’t even need a karaoke machine because lots of softwares are available online. All you need is to play karaoke tracks for your friends to perform and some drinks & snacks to chill out.
7. Hawaiian Luau
A Luau is a feast accompanied by entertainment. Setup a sand pit outdoor and place some decorative palm trees and coconuts. Add some bright flowers and paper lanterns. Ask your friends to dress up in Hawaiian style. Play some Hawaiian music and enjoy the evening.
8. Spin the bottle
Take a large juice bottle, clean it up and add 15-20 notes of paper with questions on it. You can also write some funny things which you want them to do. Sit in a circle and spin the bottle. Whomever the bottle points, takes out a note and will do what is written.
9. Masquerade
It’s a sure thing that everyone will fall for the romance and mystery of a classical Masquerade party. All you need to do is to buy a mask for the party and the rest of your outfit can be whatever you like.
10. Head to Outer space
Turning your house into an outer space can do wonders for sparking a sense of excitement throughout the night. Low-lights, some cool decorations and low music can all contribute to a unique and exciting theme. Make sure to include lots of glow-I-the-dark decorations too.
11. Beach Party
This theme really doesn’t need an explanation. Organize a trip to the beach and have fun. If not, bring the beach into your house. Create a beach effect, place few inflatable pools, cool drinks and tell your guests to wear swimming suits.
