Transient Mass Balance and Volumetric Flow Rate of Mixiing Acid and Liquor

Question

A concentrated acid is to be added continuously to a steady inlet flow of 400 cm2/s of liquor in a well-stirred tank of a volume 0.1m3. The acid, of concentration 300 kg/m3, flows through a control valve into the mixing vessel. The concentration of acid in the liquor leaving the vessel is to be 12 kg/m3, and this is measured along a pipe with a time delay of 20 seconds.

Please refer to the PDF document attached for the whole question.

Summary

The question belongs to Chemical Engineering and the question is about measuring transient mass balance, volumetric flow rate, transfer function and closed loop transfer function.

Hello Allison,I love the 2nd image that you did! I also, had never heard of SumoPaint, is something that I will have to exolpre a bit! I understand completely the 52 (or so) youtube videos that you probably watched. Sometimes they have what you want, sometimes they don't! However, it is always satisfying when you are able to produce something that you have taught yourself. Great job!Debra 0 likes
