Differential Mode Gain of a Circuit


Differential Amplifier Problem. Body effect can be neglected, but channel-length modulation should be included. Assume the current mirror is designed for a 1:1

mirroring ratio.

  1. Calculate the differential-mode gain of the circuit.
  2. Calculate the common-mode gain of the circuit.
  3. Calculate the common-mode input range, which is the common-mode input DC voltage range over which all devices remains in saturation.

Assume these parameters for all transistors:

  • |Vt|=0.5 V
  • |Veff|=0.2 V
  • gm=1 mA/V
  • ro=15 kΩ
