Calculating Heat Flow of Rate of Steel Pipe

Question

A steel pipe having an inside diameter of 1.88 cm and a wall thickness of 0.4 cm is subjected to inside and outside surface temperature of 367 K and 345 K, respectively. Thermal conductivity of steel pipe is 43 W/mK.

(a) Find the heat flow rate perimeter of pipe length in W/m.
(b) Find the heat flux based on both inside and outside surface areas.

Summary

The question belongs to Chemical Engineering and it is deals with calculation of heat flow of a heated steel pipe and the heat flux based on inside and outside surface areas. The solution has detailed calculations.

Hello Allison,I love the 2nd image that you did! I also, had never heard of SumoPaint, is something that I will have to exolpre a bit! I understand completely the 52 (or so) youtube videos that you probably watched. Sometimes they have what you want, sometimes they don't! However, it is always satisfying when you are able to produce something that you have taught yourself. Great job!Debra 0 likes
