Calculate Volume Work Done And Temperature Of Monatomic Gas


Two moles of an ideal monatomic gas with an initial pressure of 3.0 atm and temperature of 350 K is expected irreversibly and adiabatically against a constant pressure at 1.0 atm until the volume has doubled.

(a) Calculate the final volume of the gas.
(b) Evaluate the work done, w, quality of heat, q, and the change in internal energy ∆U, for the process.
(c) What is the final temperature of the gas?
