Calculate the Outlet Temperature of Catalytic Reactor for Adiabatic PFR Reaction


An adiabatic PFR (feed temp. = 120°C) reaches 70% conversion for the uncatalyzed reaction A → B.  At the same feed temperature, the same reaction reaches 70% conversion in an adiabatic catalytic reactor that is 1/10th the size. The catalyst significantly lowered the activation energy of the reaction and this increased the reaction rate. The outlet temperature from the catalytic reactor is _________ the outlet temperature from the non-catalytic reactor.
