The following data was taken to study the effect of four factors on the drill advance rate of a new piece of drilling equipment. Two runs were made at each condition and the results were averaged.

a. calculate the X1X4 – interaction.

b. The pooled estimate of σ2 obtained from the replicated factorial points is: Sp2 = 130. What is the value of SE?

c. Which effects statistically significant? (Note: the table above shows, for example, that the X2X3 interaction is -20).

d. Summarize your results in equation form.
